Pinnacle Snowsports

Pinnacle Snowsports is based in Hokkaido, offering ski and snowboard lessons and technique training at Niseko Grand Hirafu, Niseko Annupuri, Rusutsu and Kiroro. Our team is built around international instructor certifications such as CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance), NZSIA, CASI, APSI and SBINZ. We teach in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese. Our lessons cover everything from your first day on snow and family lessons to trees and powder, exploring the mountain with an instructor, and advanced technique. We also offer ski instructor training and CSIA exam preparation.

ABOUT US

Who we are

We're a team of instructors with one goal: to make skiing easier to understand. Our founding team includes several CSIA Level 3 instructors who have taught and trained at Hokkaido resorts for years. We break complex technique into steps you can practise on the snow and review after the lesson. Whatever your background, you can improve steadily at your own pace.

Good teaching is more than taking you down the mountain. Within a safety framework, we use sound methods to help you read the snow, understand each movement and build confidence, until you're choosing your own line, speed and rhythm.

Our promise: safety and your goals come first, and we give you clear practice points and advice on how to keep progressing after your lesson.

OUR VALUES

We love skiing, and we want that passion to have a positive effect on the people around us. We started this school to give skiers and snowboarders lessons built around them, and to help them take their skills to the next stage.

Inclusion, growth, connection

We value every student and respect that each person has different needs. In a friendly, welcoming setting, we hope to build real connections with our students and keep growing alongside them on the snow.

Our team

Our instructors have taught in countries including New Zealand, Canada, Japan and China. They bring years of teaching experience, plenty of patience and real enthusiasm. All of them hold an international instructor certification, communicate clearly and adapt quickly when conditions change.

We also invite CSIA Level 4 examiners to join us. Their understanding of skiing, and how well they pass it on, raises the standard of our teaching.

International certifications, structured training

Between them, our instructors bring certifications and training from systems including CSIA, NZSIA, CASI, APSI and SBINZ. Working across several systems gives us more than one way to reach the same goal: a sharper breakdown and a better-matched drill for your fitness, your fears and your pace.

Lessons in four languages

We teach in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese, so safety instructions, technique cues and calls on snow conditions are clearly understood. Learning is easier, safer and faster.

One school, the whole path

Our strength is the complete learning path. From your first day on snow to instructor training and the CSIA exam:

Why Pinnacle

Your goal, not a template

First we ask what you want: to ski safely, sharpen your technique, ski the trees and powder, or prepare for an exam. Then we decide what to work on that day, and in what order.

Snow and terrain are central to our lessons

In Hokkaido, progress takes more than good movement. Reading the snow, choosing a line and managing your speed matter just as much. This is the most valuable part of exploring the mountain with an instructor and of our advanced lessons.

Certification standards, even if you never take an exam

We break skills down using the language of instructor certification, so you can see where you stand and what to work on next.

Four resorts to choose from

Pick the resort that suits where you're staying and your plans. We'll suggest areas and times that fit the crowds, the snow and your goals.

Where we teach and what we offer

Niseko Grand Hirafu and Niseko Annupuri: something for every level, with plenty of runs and terrain to progress on step by step.

Rusutsu: great for anyone who wants smoother, more flowing skiing and long cruising runs.

Kiroro: varied snow and terrain, well suited to advanced skiers and snowboarders who want to push their technique further.
